How We Check Fitment
We want to be clear about what we do and don't do, so you can judge our recommendations.
What we do
- Start with the manufacturer's fitment data. We read each product's stated compatibility — model years, trims, cab styles, bed lengths, and any exclusions such as Hybrid, Prime or Lightning models.
- Cross-check against the vehicle. We compare that data with the generation's known differences (for example, the RAV4 Hybrid's different rear floor, or the Tacoma's cab and bed variations) and flag anything that doesn't line up.
- Read what owners report. We go through owner reviews and enthusiast forums looking for patterns: "didn't fit my Double Cab", "gap at the front", "blocks the mirror". Repeated complaints get called out on the page.
- Explain the trade-offs. Material, coverage, price and ease of cleaning matter, so every pick has honest pros and cons.
What we don't do
- We don't claim to have personally installed every product unless a guide says so.
- We don't accept payment from brands to be included or ranked.
- We don't show prices on our pages, because prices on Amazon change often. Always confirm the current price and the "Confirm fit" tool on Amazon before you buy.
Spot a mistake?
If a product we list didn't fit your vehicle, tell us. We update guides when owners report problems.
